Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), which protects the 1,751 km long international front with Nepal, intensified security across all its border positions and vulnerable points as a result of the unrest in Nepal, officials said on Tuesday (September 9, 2025).
All SSB commanders were asked to be on the ground and maintain increased vigil. “Other forces have been placed on 22 SSB bases along the border, while the police stations maintain supervision through drones in five border areas,” Vikas Kumar, a superintendent police, said in Balgrampur.
He added that the news agencies were instructed to maintain strict monitoring, and all staff located along the 85 km long border in Balrampur was ordered to stay high standby.
Police teams and SSB Jawans are conducting common patrols, while the “Kavach Operations” Committees in the region were asked to remain active and carefully follow the cross -border movement.

“We have many relatives in Nepal. Through the Internet we were able to stay in touch and check their well -being. The ban caused trouble for us and added to our concerns in the middle of violent agitation,” he said.
Rrakesh Yadav, a MLA representing the Gainsari constituency in Uttar Pradesh, he said that several tribal families in his area have marital ties with people in Nepal.
“The Nepalese government should develop sincere efforts to end violent agitation,” he said.
