Seaplane trial operation to Lakshadweep Islands from Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL) will commence on Wednesday, May 13 subject to weather conditions.
Twelve trial runs are scheduled over three days covering several island destinations to test feasibility and boost regional connectivity and tourism. On the Kochi–Agatti–Kalpeni–Kavaratti and Kochi–Kadmat–Kiltan–Agatti routes, a 20-seater Otter two-seater seaplane will operate, CIAL said in a release on Tuesday (May 12).
