High Court on Monday (April 27, 2026) took suo motu cognizance of the brutal stabbing of a woman advocate and directed the Delhi Police Commissioner to hand over the inquiry to a senior police officer.
A group of women lawyers led by advocate Sneha Kalita appeared before a bench headed by Chief Justice of India Surya Kant to inform the court about the incident. They said the woman had multiple wounds on vital parts of her body and three hospitals refused to admit her for critical medical care. She was finally admitted to the Trauma Centre, AIIMS, New Delhi early on 23rd April.
