North American Aerospace Defense Command (Norad) deployed fighter aircraft to identify and capture four Russian military aircraft flying near Alaska on Wednesday, CBS News reported.
This is the second incident of its kind within a month. In August, the US Army caught a similar situation where US fighter aircraft responded to a Russian plane in the same way in the same region, according to CBS.
Norad said the Russian aircraft consisted of two bombers Tu-95 and two fighter aircraft Su-35. These aircraft operated in the identification zone of air defense in Alaska (ASDIZ), which is an area of international airspace adjacent to the US and Canada.

The CBS also said that Norad sent an E-3 early warning aircraft, four F-16 fighter aircraft and four KC-135 tankers to observe and capture Russian aircraft. Officials confirmed that the aircraft did not exceed us or Canadian sovereign airspace.
Although Russian flights in Adiz are not unusual, Norad said that these incidents are carefully monitored in regular air defense procedures.
Norad explained Adiz as a specific zone in the international airspace that requires all the aircraft to be identified for national security. He also confirmed that none of the Russian flights or the Canadian border exceeded us.

In September 2024, Norad gave a footage of Russian aircraft flying dangerously near the American aircraft on the Alasho coast, which the US general characterized as “dangerous and unprofessional”, CBS said.
The incident occurs, while European countries remain very vigilant for Russian air activity.
On Thursday, Denmark closed the airport after an unauthorized drone entered its airspace and, according to CNN, stayed there for more than three hours. This means a second similar incident in Denmark because Europe is engaged in suspicious Russian drone attacks.

Poland and Estonia also accused Russia of multiple drones from their airspace at the beginning of this week.
The Danish authorities are investigating large drones that caused flights near Copenhagen at the beginning of this week and refer to them as a “capable actor”.
Trump-Putin Meeting
This follows at the August meeting between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Alaskan summit, where they discussed the possibility of peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine.
Although there was no update at this meeting, Trump warned to impose sanctions on Russia and other countries buyers from Moscow and accused them of “financing war”.
This week at the UN General Assembly, Trump said: “If Russia is not ready to conclude an agreement to end the war, then the United States is fully prepared to store a very strong wheel of powerful tariffs.”
Trump was also thinking about his previous diplomatic efforts and mentioned that despite the summit with Putin in Alaska, where he encouraged the Russian president to negotiate with the Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zlensky, Mírová agreement.
