Despite the instructions of the Supreme Court, the joint Action Committee (JAC) of Transport Corporation has announced that the national strike will start from 6:00 on Tuesday.
Ananth Subbarao, president of the KSRTC staff and the KSRTC, Ananth Subbarao staff, confirmed on Monday evening that the strike would continue as planned. “The meeting with the main minister failed on Monday afternoon. We received a copy of the court order at 19:30, but the government did not deal with the urgent questions faced by corporation employees. Therefore, we go with a strike,” he said.
Mr. Subbarao also explained that since the other JAC members were not inaccessible on Monday evening, there has been no formal meeting that would discuss the court directive. “We have not yet chosen a meeting with all other JAC members on the basis of the direction of the court,” he added.
Meanwhile, the KSRTC and BMTCs have issued appeals for their employees and asked them to follow the judicial instructions.
“Dear employees, because the High Court issued an order against a strike called trade unions tomorrow, we must honor the order. Since the main minister has positively answered, Transport Corporation, a public service, is asked not to question from tomorrow’s strike.”
Talks with cm fail
On Monday, the last round of interviews took place between the main Minister Siddarahaiaha, Minister of Transport Ramaling Reddy and employees, but the discussion ended without resolutions.
Mr. Siddaramaiah urged trade unions to do their planned protest.
“Several meetings have already been carried out with various transport trade unions. These problems can be solved through mutual dialogue. During my previous work in 2016, the government carried out a 12.5% increase in the salary for transport employees. But the former BJP government could not revise salaries in 2020.
“When we got to power in 2013, the combined debt of all traffic corporations was 4,000 GBP Crore. By 2018, when we left the office, only 14 crores have decreased. At present, none of the corporations is profit.
