The Ministry of Health has prepared the MeHEALTH mobile application, which will allow users to easily access all information about nearby public health facilities and services available in these institutions.
In a statement here, Health Minister Veena George said that through the app, users can find all the details of nearby hospitals, special wards and services, laboratory tests and also the rates of each of the tests and services offered.
Information on blood banks, payments, radiology services and hospital pharmacies is also accessible. The public can also reserve appointments in advance at the hospitals where the e-Health project is implemented.
Details of Janakeeya Aarogya Kendrams in the area (earlier known as sub-centres), Government Homoeopathic Hospitals and Karunya Dispensaries are also made available.
Ms George said these devices, which would find widespread use among the public, were enabled through the ‘Nearby Services’ option in the MeHEALTH app.
To access these services, users must first install the MeHEALTH mobile app and login using their phone number and OTP. If a user enters their Aadhaar number and generates a unique health ID, they can book OP tickets and doctor appointments online through this app.
The app also guides the user to the medical facility by displaying the exact distance and route using integrated Google Maps navigation.
To find nearby hospitals and services, users can click on the “Nearby Services” option on the home page of the app. By choosing “Find an institution”, all hospitals within a radius of 10 km will be available, as well as the exact distance to these institutions.
The user can also select hospitals by clicking on “Find Specialties” which will provide information based on the specialty selected by the user.
In the same way, information about nearby clinics, blood banks, laboratories, payments and radiology services can be accessed through “Find services”.
Clicking on “Find HOW” will help the user to find the nearest Janakeeya Aarogya Kendrams. Pharmacies or homeopathic clinics can be located in the same way.
