Rizwan asks the Pakistan Cyber Crime Unit to return the phone, details of the ongoing investigation
Mohammad Rizwan on Tuesday asked Pakistan’s National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency to return his phone and provide him with written details of the allegations or suspicions they are investigating against him.
In a letter sent to the NCCIA on Tuesday, which is available in Pakistani media, Rizwan also asked the agency to use official channels when communicating with him in the future.

The letter, dated September 28, was sent to the NCCIA a day after Pakistani media reported that agency officials claimed the goal shooter was not cooperating with the investigation despite their efforts to contact him.
Rizwan said in the letter that since some time had passed since the phone was taken from him, it should now be returned. He claimed he was promised the phone would be returned to him within three hours when it was taken from him on August 31.
The letter mentions another update that Rizwan has been promised that his phone will be returned to him after a digital forensic examination is done. Rizwan said that considerable time had now passed and requested that the device be returned without further delay.
He also rejected suggestions that he did not cooperate with the investigation.
Rizwan said he provided officials with the phone’s password when the device was taken from him and they accessed and examined its contents in his presence.
Rizwan said that even when he appeared before the NCCIA on September 10, officials again had access to his unlocked phone and examined messages and other content in his presence.
Rizwan asked the agency to officially inform him about the date and time of future calls from him. He also requested that all further correspondence be sent through the official route to his residential address.
Ordered to return home after England’s second Test defeat, Rizwan and Imam Ul Haq appeared before the NCCIA in Lahore earlier this month after their mobile phones were seized by team security personnel.
