Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy urged nursing students to learn foreign languages like Japanese and German to explore the huge job opportunities abroad.
With a rapidly aging population, Japan is recruiting nurses from India in droves, offering higher salaries, he noted, and encouraging nursing students to improve their professional skills and explore job opportunities at home and abroad.
On Sunday (January 18, 2026), he interacted with the students of Government Medical College Palair in Khammam district.
The headmaster ceremoniously opened the new building of the college of nurses. Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, Khammam MP R. Raghuram Reddy and others were present.
The Chief Minister appreciated the role of nurses in providing healthcare and urged the nurses to serve the sick and needy with compassion. According to him, to the huge applause of the nursing students, coaching classes will be organized under the guidance of experts to teach Japanese and German to the students of the government nursing college.
The Chief Minister laid foundation stones for the construction of a building for JNTUH University College of Engineering, Palair, Link Canal from Munneru River to SRLIP Palair Link Canal and 100-bed District Hospital, Kusumanchi.
He laid foundation stones and inaugurated various development works worth around ₹ 362 crore in Palair Assembly constituency.
Mr. Revanth Reddy, who virtually hammered out the Congress party’s poll for the upcoming municipal elections, discussed the civic poll strategy with party leaders and key functionaries in Maddulapalli.
Mr. Reddy is scheduled to attend a public meeting to be held as part of the closing ceremony of the CPI centenary celebrations in Khammam this afternoon.
