Spell researchers K. Balakrishnan and Mathur B. Pavendan of Tiruchi deciphered the inscription at Sanyasi Pudavu, a cave shelter in the Courtallam hills of Tenkasi district, many years after its discovery.
After two and a half years of research, the two provided a convincing explanation. The words of the inscription “UM NERI GNANAVABI ELORE KAJAM KA EERU” have been translated to mean “Your path is the path of wisdom like a sacred tank; Even if you take the contents from all the water bodies in the seven cities, the essence remains one.”
