BJP National Vice President V Ram Madhav on Sunday dismissed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Vote Chori’ charge against the NDA government as baseless and condemned the Congress’ charge against the Election Commission of India (ECI) as baseless.

Mr. Madhav was in Tirupati on a pilgrimage and watched the ‘Mann ki Baat’ program along with party leaders. He later told the media that the opposition parties were unable to accept the verdict of the people in a democratic system and therefore resorted to “wild allegations”.

According to him, opposition parties are constantly haunted by the fear of successive electoral defeats. “Degrading acts against constitutional institutions should be condemned by all,” he said, urging the public to stand behind constitutional institutions.

Mr. Madhav said the BJP will launch ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ from October 7 to mark the completion of 25 years of Narendra Modi’s public life in elected executive office, as Chief Minister and Prime Minister. He urged party leaders and cadres to make the program a grand success.

Addressing the party cadre, he said that BJP’s political journey was not aimed at seeking power or positions, but at serving the people.

He directed the cadres to work towards achieving 100% strike rate by winning all the seats in the next local body elections. State BJP vice-president Kola Anand, general secretary N. Ramesh Naidu and state spokespersons Jalli Madhusudhan, S. Muni Subramanyam and Gali Pushpalatha were present.

Meanwhile, in Visakhapatnam, AP BJP president PVN Madhav dismissed the opposition’s allegations of vote-stealing as baseless and accused it of resorting to misinformation because it was unable to digest the BJP’s growing support.

Addressing a press conference at the party office, Mr. Madhav slammed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for what he termed baseless allegations and warned against attempts to mislead the public through social media.

On allegations of tampering with voter lists, he said the country has a mechanism in place to prepare and revise them through prescribed forms and regular revision exercises. He said the ECI has clarified that the Special Intensive Review (SIR) process is transparent.

He attributed the BJP’s organizational strength to a well-established structure from the booth level to the mandal and district levels. He called on the opposition parties to strengthen their organizations and stand for election if they really enjoyed public support instead of making accusations.
