Rajasthan Royals fast bowler Nandre Burger has been fined 10% of his match fee and handed one point for breaching the Indian Premier League code of conduct following an abusive celebration after dismissing Lucknow Super Giants skipper Rishabh Pant.
During the match between LSG and RR at the Ekana Cricket Stadium, Burger was seen gesticulating aggressively and using abusive language towards Pant after he dismissed him for a duck. Burger, who took two crucial wickets in a relatively low-key game, helped RR secure a 40-run victory over LSG.
“Rajasthan Royals bowler Nandre Burger has been fined 10 percent of his match fee and also received one point for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct during his team’s match against Lucknow Super Giants,” the IPL said in an official statement.
