
Mumbai’s monorail train stopped on Tuesday evening between Mysore Colony and Bhakti Park in the middle of a heavy downpour. Firefighters and other agencies used cranes to rescue passengers.
The train running on a raised track was stuck at least one hour, the officials said. According to an official statement, Monoraille in Mumbai suffered a “minor power problem”.
There were three snorkeling vehicles of the fire brigade in Mumbai and the passengers were saved by cutting the window, the officials said.
The main Minister of Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis also shared the details of the incident and said:
“The highest priority is the safety of all passengers. Therefore, no one should be afraid or panic. All passengers will be safely evacuated. I ask everyone to stay patient,” he added.
CM also said that an investigation would be carried out why this incident occurred.
Mumbai has been beat of rain in the last two days and thrown away normal life in the metropolis from the facility. At least six people were killed, a hundred others have been displaced in the last few days.
