Rain and thunderstorms lash parts of Hyderabad on June 20

Several parts of Hyderabad received rain on Saturday (June 20) as dark clouds gathered over the city after noon, bringing showers and thunderstorms to several eastern and northeastern locations.

Rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms lashed AS Rao Nagar, Nacharam, Mallapur, Kushaiguda, ECIL, Chengicherla and areas around Cherlapally around 3 pm, providing relief from the wet conditions that prevailed earlier in the day.

The sky, which remained clear during the first half of the day, turned cloudy in the afternoon, bringing widespread rain in several parts of the city.

As of 8 pm, Banjara Hills recorded 10 mm of rainfall followed by 4.5 mm in Masab reservoir, 3.5 mm in Medipally, 3 mm in Ghatkesar, 2 mm in Jubilee Hills and 2 mm in Goshamahal, according to Telangana Development Planning Society (TGDPS) data.
