Kazhakuttam police have arrested a resident of Thumba on charges of assaulting a resident of Pallithura following a property dispute.
The accused was identified as Ribello Roosevelt. He was involved in a long-running property dispute with Rajeena Stephen.
On the morning of March 10, Rajeena reached Rajiv Gandhi Nagar in Thumba in connection with the construction of a compound wall on the land she owned. She was talking to the workers when Ribello arrived on the scene and seriously injured her.
She was immediately rushed to a hospital in Kazhakuttam. Ribello, who went into hiding, was arrested by the Kazhakuttam police from Pallithura, produced before the court and remanded in custody.
Ribello is an accused in similar cases registered at both Thumba and Kazhakuttam police stations, police said.
