Former White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre left the Democratic Party, which was quoted on Wednesday (June 4) the “betrayal” of former President Joe Biden and registered as independent, according to its publisher Hachette Book Group.
Jean-Pierre, which served under Biden from 2022 to the beginning of 2025, describes in detail its decision in the upcoming book entitled “Independent: Looking at the broken White House, outside the party’s lines”, scheduled for release on October 21.
“Liberation out of boxes”
Jean-Pierre said in a statement accompanying the announcement of the book: “Until January 20, I was responsible for speaking on behalf of the United States President. On that day I became a private citizen who, like all Americans and many of our allies, had to connect with what was supposed to come to our country.”
She added, “I found that the danger we face as a country requires liberation of boxes. We must be willing to exercise the ability to think creatively and strategically plan.”
Description of the dedicated departure of biden
According to the publisher, the book will offer a perspective dedicated to “three weeks that have led Biden to leave his offer for the second term and betrayal of the Democratic Party, which led to his decision.”
Jean-Pierre strongly defended Biden after his bad debate against Donald Trump, who launched calls from the highest democrats to withdraw from the race. Biden, then 81, eventually fell and quoted concerns about his health and choice.
Shift
Legacy Lit said that the book Jean-Pierre will not only tell her experience of the White House, but also defend a wider political shift: “It represents clear arguments and provocative evidence as dedicated to the importance of dismantling the stream of misinformation and misinformation that has not controlled in recent elections.”
The publisher stated that it would insist on the Americans to exceed the “blind loyalty” to the system of two parties and “accepted life as independent”.
From the party’s loyalist to the criticism
Jean-Pierre, 50, previously worked as a representative of a press secretary and worked as a leader in the Biden’s 2020 campaign. During the first term of President Barack Obama, she was also a regional political director.
The publisher stressed: “Jean-Pierre did not come to her decision to be independent.”
Her departure and the upcoming book come in the middle of the renewed control of Biden’s administration, because former helpers face criticism of downplaying the cognitive decline in the President – a problem raised in the recent “original sin” exposition by two journalists.
