Hubballi city police have registered a case against a man who allegedly kidnapped a girl and sexually abused her.

A case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act (POCSO) 2012 was registered in Hubballi after the case of a 14-year-old girl who gave birth to a child came to light.

Hubballi city police have registered a case against a man who allegedly kidnapped a girl and sexually abused her.

Dharwad District Child Welfare Officer Deepa Javur has also filed complaints against doctors in Dharwad district and three doctors from a private nursing home in Hubballi.

According to the complaint, the man allegedly kidnapped the minor girl, locked her in the house and sexually abused her. After the girl informed her parents, they consulted a local doctor who in turn advised them to approach a nursing home in Hubballi.

In the complaint, the doctors are accused of concealing the fact that the minor became pregnant.

A minor recently had a baby in her home. Due to excessive bleeding, she was first shifted to a private nursing home and subsequently to KMCRI Hospital in Hubballi.

“After verifying the documents, it came to light that the girl was just 14 and three months old and she was admitted to Nirbhaya ward. The child is being treated in the intensive care unit. Both the girl and the child are now stable,” said KMCRI Chief Medical Officer Rajashekhar Dyaberi.
