Prime Minister Narendra Modi will start two initiatives-PM Dhan-Dhaanya Yojan and confidence in Pulsian missions in 2030-31 by 2030-31 from 27.5 million hectares. Both schemes were announced in the last budget.
Minister of Agriculture Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who addressed reporters on Thursday, said the center will be produced in the country within the proposed system.
In addition to these two programs, more than 1100 projects worth 42,000 GBP in agriculture, animal breeding, fishing and food processing will be inaugurate on Saturday.
“Today, India is completely self -sufficient in wheat and rice, and we have exported over four tons of agricultural production.
He noted that India was the largest producer and consumer of impulses and also the largest importer. “The aim is to expand the total area of pulses from 27.5 million hectares to 31 million hectares to 2030-31 and increase production from 24.2 million tonnes to 35 million tonnes. It focuses on productivity from 880 kg to hectare on hectare.” High quality seeds will be distributed to farmers.
“In the field of pulses, 1,000 units of processing will be set up to ensure better farmers’ prices and support the addition of local value. Each unit receives a government subsidy of 25 ₹.
For PM Dhan-Dhaanya Yojana, Mr. Chouhan said that to deal with productivity differences, the government will identify 100 neighborhoods of low productivity and introduce targeted measures. “Efforts will focus on improving irrigation, strengthening of storage facilities, expanding access to loan and supporting crop diversification,” he said.
