The slogan “from the river to the sea, Palestine will be free” on Friday, he spoke via Bengalur’s Freedom Park when hundreds of people gathered to protest against the alleged Palestinian genocide in Gaza.
Demonstrators even raised slogans against world leaders supporting Israel. They criticized both the central and the state governments for trying to silence their voices. Songs against the support of Israel sang protesters.
Demonstrators demanded that the Indian government should impose Israel full of embargo, similar to the one that was promoted against South Africa’s apartheid, which included diplomatic, commercial, cultural and sports bans. They also demanded cancellation or postponing licenses issued to public and private companies supplying military weapons and equipment to Israel and required to stop the import or common arms related and tracking technology.
In addition, demonstrators called for India to end all cooperation with Israeli agencies involved in the training of Indian police or security forces, as well as any common operations. They also demanded termination of the work agreement between India and Israel and called for immediate withdrawal of Indian workers from Israel and stopped further recruitment.
While several attempts to protest in the city about the situation in Gaza were stopped by the police Bengalur, this time the organizers acquired previous permits, which allowed a peaceful demonstration. Given the sensitivity of the problem, approximately 200 police staff were deployed around Freedom Park.
The leading police officer told the Hindes that the organizers had asked for permission that was granted under certain conditions, including a ban on slogans that could affect international relations. “Like any other protest, we have been a video science. It will be reviewed by our team and any violation of the law will be recorded, with cases filed against organizers and individuals,” the officer said.
