Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to unveil infrastructure, industrial and cultural projects covering several districts during his visit to Gujarat on Tuesday (March 31, 2026).
The visit will begin at Koba village in Gandhinagar district, where Mr Modi will inaugurate the ‘Samrat Samprati Museum’ at Shri Mahavir Jain Aradhana Kendra and address a gathering. Named after Samrat Samprati Maharaj, the museum is dedicated to Jain heritage and the principle of non-violence. It features rare artefacts, ancient manuscripts, sculptures and seven themed galleries along with audiovisual installations.
From there, Mr. Modi will travel to Sanand near Ahmedabad to inaugurate the Offsite Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT) facility set up by Kaynes Semicon at an estimated cost of ₹ 3,300 crore. The facility will carry out chip packaging and testing with an expected production capacity of approximately 60,000,000 chips per day.
Officials said the project is expected to boost India’s semiconductor mission and strengthen Gujarat’s position as a manufacturing hub.
In the final leg of the visit, the Prime Minister will reach Lakhni taluka in the newly created Vav-Tharad district, where he will address a public meeting and virtually launch development and railway projects worth over ₹6,000 crore.
Key rail projects include the 55 km Himmatnagar-Khedbrahma line, built at a cost of ₹ 482 crore to improve connectivity in Sabarkantha district and improve connectivity to Ahmedabad and Udaipur.
Other works include the doubling of the Kanalus-Jamnagar section and the multitracking project between Gandhidham and Adipur, which together cost ₹257 crore. A new train service between Khedbrahma and Ahmedabad via Himmatnagar will also be cancelled.
The Prime Minister will further dedicate and lay the foundation stone for 44 urban development projects worth ₹ 5,295 crore across the state. Of these, 18 projects worth ₹1,868 crore will be inaugurated.
Ahmedabad has the largest share with 32 projects worth ₹4,640 crore, followed by work under the Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation.
These initiatives include upgradation of infrastructure, sewage systems and housing under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana to benefit thousands of families. I
In addition, a city and road beautification project will be inaugurated in Vadnagar to boost tourism, while a railway bridge in Patan will be inaugurated to ease congestion and improve connectivity for nearly two million residents.
