
Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in manipure on Saturday 13th September, where he inaugurated more development projects worth more than £7 300 crore in Churachandpur.
This means that the first visit to PM Modi in the northeast state after ethnic violence broke out in May 2023.
It was previously planned that PM Modi would take the Churachandpur helicopter from the capital Mizoram, Aizawl, but he went straight to Kuki controlled by Churachandpur after heavy rain.

The ceremonial ceremony focuses on a wide range of infrastructure projects from urban roads manipur and drainage to the project Improvement of Asset Management £3 600 crore.

Modi laid the foundation stone for the development of infrastructure in the pole and surroundings £30 crore and strengthening facilities of 120 schools for the price £134 crore in all 16 districts.
Different projects concerning rural connectivity, education and tourism in parts of manipure with total value £102 crore, were also included in the list of initiatives for which the cornerstone was laid.

Multipurpose inner stadium construction £36 Crore in the sports complex Khuman Lampak in Imphal and upgrading NH 102 and in the sections of the tengnopal value £502 crore, they were also on the list.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who addressed the public assembly in Churachandpur, said the country manipure is a country of courage and bravery. “I want to greet the passion of people from manipuru. You all came here despite heavy rain, I want to thank you for your love. Because of the heavy rains I couldn’t come, so I decided to come across the road.
According to the schedule listed in the PIB press release, PM modi had to “start different projects worth £1200 Crore in Imphal, around 14:30 and address public post ”after a public meeting in Churachandpur.
However, the change in travel plans was caused by a significant delay.
PM Modi meets the families of victims of ethnic violence
According to officials, PM Modi met several people displaced ethnic violence in manipuro in Churachandpur’s peace. During the interaction, he listened to the concerns of families of internally displaced persons (IDP) and assured them of the center to restore peace and normalness in the state.
Ethnic violence led to more than 60,000 people, with almost 40,000 of the Kuki ZO community and around 20,000 Meiteis.
While some displaced individuals have moved from the state, most continue to live in embossed camps, suffer from poor living conditions, lack of privacy and no sources of income.

In order to help improve the situation, the government introduced, according to officials, the initiative of skills, such as a candle and incense, in an effort to support displaced people.
The violence that broke out in May 2023 resulted in more than 260 deaths and left thousands of homeless people.
Security reinforced in manipure
The state and central security forces were deployed in a large number of around the nearly 237-Acre fortress of Kangla in Imphal and Peace in Churachandpur, placed for the PM assembly.
Since Friday night, heavy rainfall flooded parts of Kangl’s strength and left ankle water in some areas.
Modi’s visit comes in the middle of the continuing criticism of the opposition parties for his delay in visiting the manipure of ethnic violence.

Meanwhile, the leader of the Priyanka Gandhi Congress criticized the Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday for not visiting manipur before, holding him responsible for the “permission” of violence in the state.
“I am glad that after 2 years he decided to visit his visit. He should visit for a long time. He is very unfortunate that he allowed him to happen there for so long, so that they would kill themselves and so many people to go through so much disputes than he decided to visit,” Gandhi in Kerale’s Wayad said.
