Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Panchayat Raj & Rural Development and Rural Water Supply, K. Pawan Kalyan has directed officials to expedite the process of linking all rural roads with GeoSadak, the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana’s online platform that manages and displays geospatial data related to village roads.
The settlement with GeoSadak would help in real-time monitoring of the road condition and take improvement measures accordingly, Mr. Pawan Kalyan said and asked the officials to submit an action plan within 48 hours.
Addressing a review meeting on the wards in his portfolio at his camp office near Mangalagiri on Friday, Mr. Pawan Kalyan said that linking the Adavi Thalli Bata scheme with GeoSadak should be taken up as a pilot project and that the construction of 662 roads connecting 761 tribal villages should be done at a fast pace.
A total of ₹1,158 crore was mobilized for these works from Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan (PM JANMAN), Mahatma Gandhi National Guarantee Scheme for Rural Employees and to some extent from the state treasury.
Pointing out that the progress in the implementation of Adavi Thalli Bata was not up to par, he insisted that the challenges faced in the areas of the agency must be overcome with a proper plan.
He wanted any problems encountered in its implementation, particularly in Alluri Sitharama Raju and Parvatipuram-Manyam districts, after due consultation with the forest and other departments concerned.
Wizard 2.0
Mr. Pawan Kalyan said that the officials should ensure that quality standards are maintained in the works implemented under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) and told them to prepare for the launch of Palle Panduga 2.0 with the help of Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI) funds.
He wanted the PR&RD department officials to coordinate with the finance department for quick release of ₹2,123 crore from SASCI funds to launch Palle Panduga 2.0.
The Deputy Minister said that he will monitor the progress of JJM projects from the third week of November and will conduct field visits after November 17 to inspect the ongoing works.
Mr. Pawan Kalyan asked the officials that Abadi Village Survey and Mapping Using Improvised Technology in Village Areas (SVAMITVA) should be properly implemented as per the guidelines.
