The referee Paul Reiffel was strongly criticized by fans on the 4th day of the Lord’s test after a series of bad decisions against India. Reiffel, a respected referee in the international circuit, was terribly spoiled-first against the Indian stimulators and then against SHUBMAN GILLA on the penultimate day of the trial match.
Reiffel gave Gill Out captured for late 4th day of play when India rolled under pressure in their pursuit of 193 runs. Gill missed full length from Brydon Carse, who went straight to the goalkeeper. As England rose in appeal, Reiffel did not hesitate to raise his finger.
Immediately irritated Gill called the decision -making control system, which showed that the ball had missed the edge of his bat or two.
The fans killed Reiffel for a bad referee in a test match and pointed out incidents where he did not give close decisions in favor of India just a few hours earlier on the same day of play.

It was not the first time Reiffel on Sunday 12th July issued a disputed decision against India. During the Indian efforts with the ball, Reiffel denied Mohammed Siraj’s appeal LBW against Joe Root, although two stumps at the time the ball hit the mat.
As India demanded a DRS review, Replays showed that Root had aimed much and was hit in a row. At the moment of the impact, the stump on the leg was clearly visible and increased the Indian hopes of a breakthrough.
However, the ball tracking system predicted that the delivery would just trim the stump. The root climbed on the pitch and probably tried to face any movement from the surface. As it turned out, the decision remained in the arbitration in the field, because it turned out that only a fraction of the ball interferes with stumps – which results in the feared call of the referee.
Captain Gill and Siraj were visibly shocked and horrified. Siraj frustrated the air, because India was passing through a rough spot where she seemed to be lucky.
Gavascar, who at that time commented, did not stay in his evaluation. He questioned the reliability of the ball monitoring data, suggesting that it showed an exaggerated movement.
“Do you say he’ll kiss the stump on his leg? There is no way.
Siraj was convinced that he had declared his third goal of the day to be rejected by technology.
“I’m weak. When I looked at it, I thought he hit the inner part of the stump on my leg. I watched it in real time, I couldn’t believe it was missing,” added former English dough Jonathan Trott in the air.
Referee vs. India in the Lord’s test
Earlier on the 3rd day of the Lord’s India test, the fast pitch of Akash Deep survived two calls of LBW in the back of the judge of Sharfuddoula. Akash Deep launched late on day 3. The day of the test match, was twice clipped before the stumps of Chris Woakes in the 114th place in Indian shifts. Akash Deep, distributed to both field times, Bangladesh’s Sharfuddoula, Akash Deep called for a DRS and survived.
