The man died of the car in which he traveled, fell into the channel in Punnamed in Alappuzha in the early Sunday hours.
The deceased was identified as Bejoy Antony (31) from Alappuzha. He died for his birthday. The accident occurred around 2:00, two others who were in the car with him managed to swim to safety.
The officials said the car had lost control of the curve and threw itself into the water near the pier of rajiv boats. It was reportedly raining at the time of the accident.
Bejoy, who was trapped inside the vehicle, was pulled out of fire and emergency services. Although he was hurried to the hospital, he could not be saved.
