One dead, three injured in a collision between a car and a truck

A 29-year-old man from Bengaluru was killed when the car he was traveling in collided with a mini truck near Perumpada on Makkoottam Churam Road on Wednesday evening (June 17).

The deceased has been identified as Rohit, a resident of SR Nagar, Bengaluru. Three other passengers with him sustained injuries and were admitted to a hospital in Virajpet. The accident took place about 1 km from the Makkoottam Churam police check post. Rohit and his friends were returning to Bengaluru after visiting the Kottiyoor temple when their car collided with a mini truck.

Rohit sustained fatal injuries from which he succumbed on the spot. The other occupants of the car who were injured in the accident were taken to a hospital in Virajpet. The body was taken to the mortuary of the Government Hospital, Virajpet. Police have launched an investigation into the accident.
