Samajwadi Party (SP) on Friday, October 10, claimed that the official account on Facebook of her President Akhilesh Yadav was suspended and accused the government of Bharatiya Janata with the Yogi Adityanath (BJP), which organizes this step. Former Minister UP often used his Facebook page to express his opinion on administration and “shortcomings”.
The specific cause of suspension of his Facebook account must still be revealed. According to sources, a former Minister of Untar Pradesh, with more than eight million followers, was suspended on Friday around 18:00.
SP Fakhrul spokesman Hasan Chaand responded strongly and wrote to “X”, “Suspension of the Facebook account of recognized Akhilesh Yadav Ji, National President of the third largest party of the country, is an attack on democracy.”
“The BJP government has imposed an unnamed emergency situation where every contradictory voice is suppressed. But the Samajwadi party will remain against BJP politicians against people,” he said.
Party member Pooja Shukla said, “Facebook dared to cross its limits – without any warning or notification suspended the official Akhilesh Yadav Ji (@yadavakhilesh).”
“It is not an ordinary account – this is Akhilesh Yadav, the voice of millions! Facebook has to remember its boundaries – it can’t silence democracy. Samajwadis, it’s time to bring Facebook to your senses! Such arrogance will not tolerate,” she said.
Party spokesman Samajwadi Pawan Pandey also tweeted against Facebook over the suspension of social media account Akhilesh Yadav and said it happened without any warning or communication.
“This is not an ordinary account – it is a harmful attempt to suppress the voice of Akhilesh Yadav Ji, the voice of Indian democracy and millions of people!” said.
