NEPELLI UTTAR PRADESH POWER LIMITED (NUUPPL), A Joint Venture Between NLC India Limited and Uttar Pradesh Rajya Vidyut Fallen Nigam Limited, Has Successfully Carried Out Turbine Generator (TG) Rolling and Synchronization of Unit-2 (660 MW) SuperCritical Thermal Power Plant in Ghatampur then, Uttar Pradesh.
Synchronization of the thermal power plant with a grid of 765 kV was performed in a single, trouble -free attempt on Sunday and sufficiently before the planned delivery time after successful completion of the fouing milestone.
The Unit-2 synchronization meant a key step forward in Nupl’s Journey to the commercial Declaration of Operation (COD). This success strengthens the perennial NUUPPL commitment to deliver 31.68 million units of reliable and sustainable nation, a press note from NLC India Ltd. (Nlcil).
Prasna Kumar Motupalli, chairwoman and CEO of NLCIL, said in commentary on success, that success is the result of a steadfast focus and devoted efforts of Nupl, NLCIL and Uprvunl, supported by the Ministry of Coal, the Indian Government.
With a functional unit 1 since December 2024, the synchronization of Unit-2 represents another main step towards full project implementation. The UNIT-3 is expected to be put into operation in 2025-26, thus increasing the total capacity of the GhatAmpur thermal energy project to 1,980 MW.
The plant is located in GhatAmpura then in the district of Kanpur Nagar in Uttar Pradesh. The project is designed to supply 75.12% (1,487.28 MW) forces to Uttar Pradesh, while the remaining 24.88% (492.77 MW) is assigned to Assam.
In addition to the power plant, Nuppl also advances in the development of a connected coal mine in Pachwara South Coal Block in the District Dumka in Jharkhand, which will provide a sustainable fuel source for the final use.
The GhatAmpur project contains the most modern supercritical technologies of boiler and turbines that are designed to meet the latest environmental standards. The plant includes gas gas distraction (FGD) and selective catalytic reduction (SCR), which ensures zero liquid (ZLD) and minimizes ecological impact.
With the synchronization of the Unit-2, Nupl is now on the verge of completing the final into operation and preparing a way for its formal entry into commercial operations, NLCIC said.
