Since the numbers are stacked in both houses, the Bharatiya Janata (BJP) party and its allies are at least 150 more than the opposition to the Vice Presidential Surveys. The opposition, however, did not accept a formal call, but is still probably forced a competition, as was the case in 2017 and 2022 vice presidents.
Vice -Presidential Election University exclusively includes Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha MPS. BJP has 240 members in Lok Sabha and 99 in Rajya Sabha. Together with its allies in both houses of Parliament, the government will have more than 457 members. While the Congress, which is the largest opposition party in both houses of parliament, has 99 members in Lok Sabha and in Rajya Sabha 27. Indian block sides and those associated with the block together have just over 300 members in two houses. The government recently occupied four nominated seats in Rajya Sabha, which has been free for a long time.
In Rajya Sabha at least 18 members belonging to Biju Janata Dal, Ysr Congress and Bharat Rashtra Samithi, are not included in the governance and opposition block. Although more often than not in the past, they supported the government in the case of infected legislation.
This will be the narrowest competition between the two sides. In 2017, the first vice -presidential elections of the Narendra Modi government were, which was a competition between the then Minister of the Cabinet Venkaiaia Naida and nominated for opposition Gopal Krishna Gandhi. Mr. Naidu won the competition for 272 votes. In 2022, when Mr. Dhankhar faced the opposition nominated Margret Alva, he won a competition for a range of 346 votes. The Trinamool Congress Party abstained during the Vice President of 2022, claiming that the Congress was not consulted before the nomination of Mrs. Alva nomination. TMC had a total of 35 deputies in parliament.
