NTPC seeks ₹1.5 trillion Rosatom tie-up for six nuclear reactors | Today’s news

Long term expansion

NTPC, which aims to achieve 30 GW of nuclear capacity by 2047, has identified three sites in Madhya Pradesh, Bihar and Odisha to build 2-4 GW at each site, a third official said on condition of anonymity. Detailed reports on the feasibility of these sites have been submitted to the Atomic Energy Commission for approval. Although non-renewable, nuclear power is considered a clean, non-fossil fuel source that can supply baseload power and provide grid stability as coal-fired power generation declines.
