Polling units used in local body elections will not have the option of “NOTA” (none of the above). Paper Voter Verifiable Audit Records (VVPAT) will also not be used, State Election Commission officials said. In rural local bodies each voter will have three votes (for grama panchayat, block panchayat and district panchayat) while in municipalities and corporations each voter will have one vote. Green protocol will be in play for all activities related to local polls.
