Non-tribal families displaced by the Polavaram project have secured resettlement

A non-tribal Project Affected Family (PAF) of the Polavaram Irrigation Project could choose the ‘One Time Settlement’ option on or before Tuesday in a special cell at the Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA) at Chintoor in Polavaram district.

ITDA Chintoor Project Manager Subham Nokwal said in a release that non-tribals displaced by the Polavaram Irrigation Project will be compensated through the ‘OTS’ method if they opt for this option.

OTS is option 3, through which the displaced family will be reimbursed for the costs of land intended for housing and the costs of building a house. In option 1, the government will build the houses in the resettlement and rehabilitation colony and the cost of the land will be paid for in option 2.
