The General Education Department of Kerala has not conducted general transfer of Headmasters in State Higher Secondary Schools (HSS) in the academic year 2025-26.
According to officials of the Kerala Senior Secondary School Principals’ Association (KHSPA), applications for this purpose are usually submitted from March to April and the process should be completed by June-July. However, this is quite often delayed. In the academic year 2024-25, applications were invited in October 2024 and the process was not completed until December.
N. Sakkeer Sainudheen, president of the association, says that even transfer applications were not sought last year. The department claimed that it planned to do the transfer through the online mode. However, the drafting of the rules has been delayed. “Following pressure from teachers’ unions, the rules were drawn up in November. However, we don’t have any copy yet,” adds Mr. Sainudheen.
