A migrant laborer from Odisha died after a wall collapsed on him during construction work at Kakkodi in Kozhikode.
Uday Manji and two other laborers were building a compound wall for a new house when an old wall of a neighboring plot collapsed on them. All three were taken to Government Medical College Hospital, Kozhikode, where Manji was declared brought dead.
Two others who suffered minor injuries are being treated in hospital. Fire Rescue personnel from Vellimadukunnu station rushed to the spot and rescued the workers as the residents found it difficult to move the heavy debris.
