No double standard, we condemn Russia, USA and Israel for violating international law: Norwegian foreign minister

India and Norway must engage more to ensure they are not “over-dependent” on any global power, Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide said, calling for greater trade, technology and cooperation in renewable energy, which now powers Norway’s entire electricity grid. Speaking to The Hindu after a bilateral meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Storr in Oslo this week, Mr. Eide said Norway would prefer India to limit its intake of Russian oil but understands its energy security concerns.
