Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy directed the officials to ensure that the design and facilities in the upcoming Bharat Future City should meet global standards and there should be no compromise in this regard.
Proposals should be modeled after a Net Zero city based on a comprehensive study and understanding of the facilities offered in cities of international repute. Officials should prioritize the creation of core infrastructure after which land allocations for both industry and infrastructure can be taken up.
The chief minister gave the instructions during a meeting on allotment of land for industrial development in Future City with senior officials on Wednesday. He directed the officials of the Industries and Infrastructure Department to spare no effort in attracting firms of global repute to the city of the future.
Invest Telangana
He wanted an exclusive ‘Invest Telangana’ cell to be created to attract investment and officials should prepare an attractive logo and website in this regard. A special unit or office should be established to seek and attract investment. Accordingly, an escort officer system should be introduced to conduct negotiations with firms willing to invest in the future city, and an officer not below the rank of a Group I officer should be appointed for the purpose.
Mr. Revanth Reddy claimed that the foundation stones for industries interested in setting up their businesses were laid in June and wanted the officials concerned to work in that direction. “Rules should be framed in such a way that it is mandatory for industries to start construction of their units immediately after allotment of land,” he said.
He announced the government’s decision to allocate 500 acres in the future city for public representatives, civil servants and journalists. Steps should be initiated to ensure that the Health Cluster notified by the Central Government has been approved for the future city. “We will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi if allocation for a health cluster for the city of the future needs to be sought,” he said.
The Chief Minister directed officials to study the models of Gujarat and Tamil Nadu for attracting investment to the state. At the same time, they should start work on the purchase of land needed to facilitate the operation of state-sanctioned bullet trains. Steps should be initiated for setting up a data city on 1500 acres and plans should be prepared for setting up STPs for their use.
Officials have been directed to identify land near roads leading to Karimnagar, Warangal and Vijayawada for setting up global capacity centers and data centers. At the same time, a policy aimed at supporting GCC countries in Tier II cities should be formulated. Mr. Revanth Reddy directed the officials concerned to take steps to connect all government offices to T-Fiber network and fixed a deadline of three months to complete the work.
