NIT Calicut 22nd convocation: Record 2,128 graduates to receive degrees on August 29

National Institute of Technology Calicut (NIT-Calicut) will confer degrees to a record 2,128 students during its 22nd convocation to be held on its campus on Saturday (August 29, 2026).

This is the largest graduating class in the institution’s history.

The batch of graduates includes 1,162 B.Tech, 575 M.Tech, 130 PhD, 102 M.Sc, 76 MBA, 65 B.Arch and 18 M.Plan students.

Prof. The event will be presided over by Prasad Krishna, Director and President of the Senate, who will present the Institutional Report. Santhosh Kumar, President and Managing Director, Texas Instruments India, will deliver the keynote address along with Guest of Honor Mathew P. Tharaniyil, President, US-based Bloom Companies.

The ceremony recognizes top academic achievers across undergraduate programs. B.Tech Computer Science student Nandana Anand received the prestigious Er. Gold medal of ML Bapny and Memorial prize of prof. Allesu Kanjirathinkal after overcoming a group of college students.

Other college students to win gold medals include Hannah Rachel Mathew (B.Arch), Gowri Chandhana. N (Biotechnology), Vemana Chandra Sekhar (Chemicals), Akash Verma (Civil), Kattamuri Charukesh (EEE), Panthula Divith Reddy (ECE), Mohamad Rayes (Materials Science), G. Niranjana (Mechanical), Prarabdha Chatterjee (Manufacturing) and Slomo John Physics (Engine).

​A total of 34 gold medals will be awarded across postgraduate specializations headed by Hemachandran. V (M.Tech Electrical Engineering – Instrumentation and Control Systems), who received the overall post-graduate Er. ML Bapna Gold Medal.
