Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Thursday (23 April 2026) convened a high-level meeting with bank chiefs to assess emerging cyber security risks associated with advanced artificial intelligence models, amid global concerns over Anthropic’s Claude Mythos system and its potential implications for financial data security.
During the meeting, Ms. Sitharaman asked banks to take all necessary precautions to secure their IT systems, protect customer data and protect cash resources.
