The Minister of Finance of the Union Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday appreciated the growing alignment between government policy, administration and private enterprise and described it as the characteristics of Indian “progressive creation of policy and dynamic implementation”.
Sithaman, who spoke at the start of the Bharat AI Shakti AI Shakti initiative in the new Delhi, said the project reflects how Indian digital ambitions are increasingly implemented through close cooperation between public leadership and global technology companies.
As a live example of this partnership, she quoted landing new underwater internet cables in Andhra Pradesh.
“Several things can remain on paper, but the performance only takes place with visionary leadership,” Sitharaman said, credited to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s wave management allowing political reforms since 2014.

The Minister also appreciated Chief Minister Andhra Pradesh N. Chandrababu Naida for his early efforts to develop the ecosystem of the state (IT) and called the southern state “the right place for landing – and India, the right country.”
Sithaman said that the Indian technological path was formed by leaders with the vision of “tested and tested”, from Modi’s tenure as Gujarat’s main minister to his current role of PM. The Indian approach, she added, allowed him to lead him rather than adapting to new technologies.
“This is one of the very interesting phases in Indian history, where politics is pushing forward before politics can even process it,” she said, adding that the new form of “positive competition” between states and political parties appears for the development of digital transformation.

Sitharaman with initiatives such as Bharat AI Shakti said that India was building by 2047 to achieve the status of the developed nation, powered by innovation, incorporation and prospective administration.
India AI Vision
Meanwhile, the Minister of Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw, also at the event, welcomed Google’s announcement of $ 15 billion in Indian digital infrastructure and described it as the main strengthening of AI ambitions in the country.
“This will lead a long way to meet our Indian visions AI,” he said.
Vaishnaw urged the company to help the Indian technological workforce to adapt to the changes to the AI.
“It is very important Rekill and Upskill our IT professionals on a large, fast scale,” he said, adding that anxiety about the impact of AI on jobs can be solved through training and new opportunities.
He also proposed to expand connectivity through Andaman & Nicobar Islands, “strategic placement that could become another large global internet node” and proposed to extend the underwater cables from Visakhapatnam to Myanmar to increase connectivity to the Indian northeast.
