
Nirca-Rajahmundry Director Maganti Madhav said on Friday that scientists have addressed more than 47,000 farmers in Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and West Bengal to documented their challenges in cultivating commercial crops.
Up to 29 teams are involved in field visits within the monthly program at Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan (VKSA), which will end on 12 June.
Nirca, formerly known as Central Tobacco Institute (CTRI), has accepted a new mandate in product-added product research and technology after the five commercial crops, turmeric, Castor, Ashwagandha and Chilli.
When he talked to the media at a press conference, Mr. Madhav said: “Farmers expect short -term varieties of respective commercial crops, intense milk sectors and removal of various corn, chili and tobacco diseases.
Mr. Madhav also added that farmers are defended to accept natural agriculture and mechanization for greater income from commercial crops.
