Navjot Kaur Sidhu, who was suspended from the Congress primary because of her ₹500 crores for a note in the chief minister’s chair, he reaffirmed his loyalty to the party and vowed to win the next election and donate Punjab to the “humble, loving and self-sacrificing Gandhi family”. Navjot Kaur Sidhu also criticized state unit president Amrinder Singh Raja Warring, accusing him of “destroying” the party.
In a post on X, Navjot Kaur Sidhu said, “We are and will always be with the Congress and we will win our state of Punjab and gift it to our own humble, loving and self-sacrificing Gandhi family.”
She also claimed that 70 percent of the party leaders are in touch with her. “Seventy percent of our effective, honest and loyal leaders are in touch with me, whom you have disconnected from the Congress party and who deserve winning Congress ticket candidates,” she said.
Navjot Kaur continued, “Congress will win PUNJAB despite your focus on destroying 70 percent of our seats where you have already given fake tickets to failed people.”
On Monday 8 December, the Punjab Congress suspended Kaur from its primary membership for her ₹500 million crowns for a remark about the chief minister’s chair that sparked a political row.
A day after her suspension, Navjot Kaur Sidhu charged that many tickets in Punjab for the polls had already been “sold”. Navjot Kaur attacked Amrinder Singh Raja Warring and asked the state unit president why he was defeated twice in his constituency.
She further claimed in the post that it was because he was focused on destroying the Congress and that he was “in collusion with the opposition party” to defeat the Congress candidates. “Congress will always stand together against people like you,” she said.
She claimed that instead of listening to her video, the president of the state department misrepresented the facts and abused her, forcing her to speak. “You could have clarified that I made it clear that Congress never asked me for money. Then when I was asked why Sidhu is not made CM from any other party, my answer was that we don’t have Rs 500 crore to spend,” she said.
