Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Friday (July 3, 2026) inaugurated the ₹ 200 crore chicken processing unit of ABIS Proteins at the green field and APIIC MSME park at Pogurupalle village in Gudupalle in Kuppam constituency.

Mr. Naidu, who arrived here on a three-day tour, was warmly welcomed by members of the public, officials and residents.

Speaking on the programme, Mr Naidu said the chicken processing unit would remarkably benefit the local poultry farmers and generate large scale indirect employment through allied activities. “The firm is a significant addition to the food processing sector in Andhra Pradesh,” added the Chief Minister.

Officials informed the chief minister that the ABIS Proteins facility, spread over 30.75 acres, is one of the largest chicken processing units in the country and commercial production is expected to start in July itself. Company representatives said the project, developed using modern technologies, will create approximately 1,400 direct and indirect jobs and create a stable market for poultry farmers. The Chief Minister also recently presented the appointment papers to the candidates selected through the company’s job fair.

The Chief Minister also launched the APIIC MSME Park, developing over 44.58 acres with 167 industrial plots and directed officials to immediately start allotting plots to entrepreneurs. He said the park will bring micro, small and medium enterprises in and around Kuppam on a common platform. This would allow budding entrepreneurs to expand with modern infrastructure and create new opportunities for investment, business and employment.

Emphasizing that the state has an investment-friendly atmosphere, Mr. Naidu said that industry is increasingly choosing Andhra Pradesh and contributing to sustainable employment generation. The Chief Minister mentioned that Kuppam has been developed as a hub for industry, agriculture and services, supported by better rail, road and air connectivity. Asserting that industrialization will be the cornerstone of employment generation and economic transformation in the region, Mr. Naidu said the Kuppam tri-state junction would undergo a massive industrial transformation.

The Chief Minister urged the youth to acquire new skills, think innovatively and become job creators rather than job seekers.

Referring to Lingala mandal in Pulivendula as a successful model of horticulture with a per capita income of around ₹ 7.3 lakh, Mr. Naidu said the proposed Purvodaya initiative will promote horticulture across Rayalaseema along with industrial development to ensure inclusive and sustainable growth.
