Family members of Gade Sai Krishna (26), who was missing for the last one month, alleged that the Krishnalanka police on the instructions of NTR tortured and beat him to death in custody. They demanded that the Andhra Pradesh government order a judicial inquiry into the matter and summon all those responsible.

“My son was picked up by the police and taken to the Krishnalanka police station. He has not returned since then,” Sai Krishna’s mother Gade Vijaya Lakshmi told the media on Wednesday.

“Police accused my son (Sai Krishna) of involvement in some cases and beat him to death. When I went to Krishnalanka police station a few days ago, Circle Inspector Nagaraju said that Sai Krishna had died. He misbehaved with me,” claimed Ms Vijaya Lakshmi.

The victim’s maternal uncle, Navarang, alleged that the police framed Sai Krishna as a criminal and beat him to death in custody.

“Is this a friendly police? If Sai Krishna is alive, the police should immediately produce him before the Supreme Court,” he said.

Sai Krishna’s mother filed a Habeas Corpus petition in the Supreme Court, which directed the Krishna Lanka Police to produce the victim before her on June 15. As they could not produce Sai Krishna, the Supreme Court directed the police to produce him by June 29.
