MRC commemorates Kargil Vijay Diwas in Coonoor

The Madras Regimental Center (MRC) in Wellington, Coonoor observed the 27th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas to pay tribute to the soldiers who laid down their lives during the Kargil War.

Brigadier Krishnendu Das, Commandant, MRC, led the wreath-laying ceremony and memorial procession at the war memorial.

Addressing the gathering, the Commander recalled the courage, unwavering determination and indomitable spirit displayed by the brave hearts of Operation Vijay who overcame formidable obstacles, treacherous terrain, extreme weather and a determined enemy occupying commanding heights to restore the sanctity of India’s territorial integrity, an MRC press release said.

The ceremony concluded with all ranks reaffirming their determination to uphold the ideals of duty, courage, selfless service and devotion to the nation while continuing the glorious legacy of the Kargil heroes and remaining ever ready to protect sovereignty and territorial integrity.
