Awami Ittehad Party (AIP) lawmaker Sheikh Khursheed, brother of jailed Member of Parliament Engineer Rashid, said on Friday (April 24, 2026) that a Delhi court’s refusal to grant bail to Rashid was “nothing short of inhumane”.
“The denial of anticipatory bail to Mr. Rashid, even as his father lies on his deathbed waiting to catch a last glimpse of his imprisoned son, is nothing short of inhumane. What we are witnessing is not justice, but a system that appears to be selective and lacks compassion,” said Mr. Khursheed, who is the MLA from North Kashmir’s Langate.
