
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow heat wave alert for Delhi on Saturday, April 25. “Heat conditions are expected to persist in isolated parts on Saturday,” an IMD official told PTI. “During the day, sustained surface winds of 15-25 kilometers per hour with gusts up to 35 kilometers per hour can be observed.”
The meteorological agency has also predicted a heat wave over Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh today. The heat wave is expected to continue over Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh for the next two days.
However, according to the IMD, the rainy season is expected to bring down the mercury from Sunday, April 26.

Rain that carries the mercury down
For Delhi, the IMD has predicted that it will be cloudy till Monday and very light rain or drizzle may occur on Tuesday.
“Very light rain may be observed from Monday due to the formation of a cyclonic circulation,” Mahesh Palawat, vice president of private weather forecasting firm Skymet, told PTI.
The Met department has predicted that the maximum temperature in Delhi will hover around 42-44 degrees Celsius on Saturday, with a gradual drop in the coming days due to rain.
In its latest bulletin, the meteorological agency has predicted isolated light to moderate rainfall with thundershowers, lightning and gusty winds likely to reach 30-40 kmph over Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh during April 26-30.
Uttar Pradesh is expected to receive rain from April 28 to April 30 and Rajasthan from April 27 to April 29.
The IMD has also predicted isolated light to moderate rainfall with thundershowers, lightning and gusty winds with speeds reaching 40-50 kmph over Chhattisgarh from April 26 to April 28; Vidarbha on 28 April and Madhya Pradesh on 27 April and 28 April.

Weather in Mumbai today
According to the Regional Met Centre, Mumbai and its suburbs will mainly witness clear skies on Saturday, April 25. It stated that hot and humid conditions were very likely in the suburbs.
The Met department said the maximum and minimum temperatures over Mumbai are likely to be around 35 degrees Celsius and 24 degrees Celsius.
However, Madhya Maharashtra and Marathawada are likely to experience isolated light to moderate rainfall with thundershowers, lightning and gusty winds of 30-50 kmph today, according to the IMD forecast.

Today’s weather in Bengaluru
Bengaluru is likely to continue to experience intense summer heat on April 25, with temperatures remaining well above normal, the IMD said.
A maximum temperature of around 37°C is expected, which is 2-3°C higher than the seasonal average. The minimum temperature should settle around 23°C.
While a yellow warning has been issued for 21 other districts across Karnataka, including parts of north and south interior Karnataka, for thunderstorms and gusty winds, Bengaluru is expected to remain firmly dry on Saturday.
However, the weather agency has predicted thunderstorms accompanied by lightning from Tuesday, April 28, bringing much-needed relief from the city’s intense summer heat.
According to the IMD, light to moderate rainfall or thundershowers with gusty winds of 40-50 kmph are likely at isolated places in Bengaluru urban and rural districts during afternoon or evening from Tuesday to Thursday.
