Member of Tiruchi Lok Sabha Durai Vaiko expressed dissatisfaction over the conditions prevailing at the Pudukottai station. Mr. Durai Vaiko visited the railway station on Wednesday evening, which falls under the Tiruchi Lok Sabha constituency.
In his statement, Mr. Durai Vaiko said he was painful to find the station in “bad condition”. On both sides of the main entrance of the station, garbage and lights were found on the entrance area and were not burned at various places on the platforms, he said. The station champion and his assistant on duty could not understand Tamil or English at that time to get to know the requirements of passengers.
Although cold water was provided on platform 1, it was not cleaned. There was no connection of drinking water on platform 2. The condition of the toilet was “pathetic”, he said. He was told that only one hygienic worker was on duty. The state of the waiting hall was not good, he said, looking for railway authorities to solve these problems.
