
Up to 3.20,042 people submitted applications for their names to the voters’ list for local authorities in the Kozhikode district. Kozhikode is placed second in the state for the highest number of applicants, while the Malappuram district, with 4,14,953 applicants, comes first. Thrissur, with 3,16,437 applicants, is in third place, while the Wayanad district with only 75,244 applicants is on the bottom. The total number of applicants in the state is 29 81 310.
Applications were adopted online from July 23, when the list of voters was published and the last date for submission was 12 August. Those who have completed 18 years at the age of 1 January 2025 could apply to the voter list, while any valid voter could request an address or other correct corrections.
In the list of proposals, up to 1,014 people asked for details in the district, while 16,646 tried to change the address or transfer their vote from one department to another. A total of 63,361 people asked to remove their names from the list.
Kozhikode recorded the highest number of applicants for a countryman, followed by Kannur with 656.
