
The crowd reportedly attacked the 44 -year -old owner of the grocery store for suspicion of the sale of cow meat to the northwest dili Vijay Nagar Area late on Wednesday evening.
The incident occurred near the North University University campus. The store owner was identified as Chaman Kumar. Police said it was beaten around 21: 00-10: 00, Hindustan Times reported.
According to a report of the alleged video about the incident, a group of men singing slogans calling for “those who kill cows to be shot”.
The police said the security was increased to control the situation on the ground. They said: “Samples of meat were seized and sent to forensic analysis to determine whether it is cow meat.”
“After the suspicion that cow’s meat is being sold, some public members have dominated the merchant. He was given medical assistance and his medical examination is currently underway,” DCP quoted (northwest) Bhisham Singh as Hindustan Times.
He said the complainant was a 15 -year -old inhabitant of this area. DCP also said the complainant claimed to bought one kilometer from cow meat behind £400 from the store.
According to reports, the leaders from the Indian Federation of Students (SFI) also got on the spot. The police said that students arrived on the spot, including SFI members, as well as the locals, which was when the police were called.
DCP Singh said, “CCTV shots from the area are collected and reviewed to verify the sequence of events.” DCP said that the situation is under control and after the forensic report and complete investigation will be taken legal steps.
