
MLA for Virajpet, when Ponnana visited the areas affected by the rain on Sunday in his constituency and evaluated the extent of damage.
The retaining wall of the Morarji Desai residential school near the Betolis village in Virajpet Taluk was checked because it collapsed last week due to heavy rains.
Officials who touched the technical department were instructed to ensure its repairs. Mr Ponnananna also warned that the surrounding compound wall adjacent to the retaining wall was exposed to the risk of collapse and ordered to take preventive measures to prevent such eventuality due to heavy rains in the coming days.
He also looked at the undergoing repairs near the school in the village of Argi. Engineers and suppliers were ordered to ensure the quality of civic work. He was also familiar with the soil to move on the road leading to Ambedkar Bhavan and ordered the officials to first clean it.
Mr. Ponnananna also visited several houses damaged in the rains and ordered income to release compensation according to government instructions immediately.
The road in Siddapura was also reviewed and the supplier came under Flak for the delay in completion. He noted that the work was carried out for five to six months before the start of the rainy season and to date has remained incomplete, which caused the public to inconvenience.
Mr. Ponnanana also called on members of the PC Vishnu family from Badaga Banangal, who died because they recently died after heavy rains.
He was told that the government had released 5 ₹ Lakh as a compensation to family members. Mr. Ponnanana offered condolences to family members. Previously, he also issued a letter that the Sanction 5-Labor Compensation to Family members of Gouri from the village of Arji who died last week in similar circumstances.
