Missing juvenile case: court orders preservation of CCTV footage of Krishnalanka police station

The Second Additional Judicial Magistrate First Class on Thursday ordered the police to preserve the CCTV footage of the Krishnalanka police station from May 1 to June 1, 2006.

A youth, Gade Sai Krishna (25), has been missing for the past 40 days and was reportedly arrested by the Krishnalanka Police of NTR Commissionerate in connection with the case.

The victim’s mother, Gade Vijaya Lakshmi, who alleged that her son was beaten to death by the police, filed an application in the second additional judicial court of the first class, seeking directions to the police to preserve and protect the video footage, CCTV footage of the Krishnalanka police.

In response to the petition, the court ordered to secure, preserve and produce the CCTV and CDR records.

Advocate Mallemudi Satish Babu, arguing on behalf of the petitioner, said that to reveal the truth, the CCTV footage and other important evidence should be preserved.

The court also ordered the creation of call data records (CDR) of mobile phones of Sai Krishna and his mother to ascertain their exact location during the same period.

Meanwhile, leaders of various political parties have demanded action against NTR Commissioner of Police SV Rajashekar Babu, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) and Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) South Zone, alleging that they acted negligently in the missing Sai Krishna case.
