
Raj Bawa produced a stunning catch to dismiss Suryansh Shedge during the IPL 2026 match between Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians on Thursday.The wicket came in the 14th over when Shardul Thakur played a full game on the pads. Shedge tried to flick it towards short mid-wicket but the ball flew into the air. Raj Bawa moved quickly to the left and completed a leaping catch to end Shedge’s innings on 8 off 5 balls.The wicket was part of a Shardul Thakur-induced collapse after Punjab Kings made a strong start. Asked to bat first after four consecutive defeats, PBKS reached 200 for 8 in their allotted overs.Prabhsimran Singh led the innings with 57 while Priyansh Arya made 27 during a 33-ball opening stand of 50 runs.Mumbai Indians had dropped Prabhsimran earlier and the opener made the most of it by helping PBKS reach 55 for 1 in the powerplay. He later added 57 runs with Cooper Connolly as Punjab crossed the 100-run mark in the 12th over.Deepak Chahar gave Mumbai the first breakthrough by dismissing Priyansh Arya in the fifth over.The game changed after Shardul, who had conceded 15 runs in his first over, struck twice in three balls. He removed Prabhsimran and then dismissed PBKS skipper Shreyas Iyer for 4.Raj Bawa then bowled Connolly with a cross seam before taking a catch to dismiss Shedge off Shardul’s bowling.Despite the collapse, Punjab Kings finished strong as they scored 53 runs in the last three overs.Azmatullah Omarzai scored 38 off 17 balls with two sixes and a four, while Vishnu Vinod and Xavier Bartlett added late runs.Vinod and Bartlett collected 22 runs off Corbin Bosch’s last over, aided by two dropped catches near the boundary as PBKS crossed the 200-run mark for the eighth time this season.
